Town of Culpeper, 250th anniversary

She is celebrating ...

She is located on "a high and pleasant situation" in the foothills of the Virginia piedmont. She has been called one of America's Top 10 Small Towns.

Many of us know her as a favorite escape from hectic lives, a place to relax and renew. And many of us call her home, even if where we live is thousands of miles away.

She is the Town of Culpeper. . . 250 years young and celebrating all year long! We'll recall historic people and events that have made her who she is today . . . the patriots who mustered in Clayton's Old Field to become the Culpeper Minute Men . . . those who fought and died here during the Civil War. . . the Black American entrepreneurs who built a strong business district.

We'll celebrate all kinds of heroes from those who made the ultimate sacrifice serving their country to those who have served without fanfare to make Culpeper a better place.

We will remember who she was, revel in who she is today, and dream about who she will become.

Join us throughout the year, won't you?
