The Culpeper Triathlon expands to 2 days this year. This year, the Culpeper International Distance Triathlon joins the very popular Culpeper Sprint in the same great venue. With a new and improved swim start/finish area this race has really just kicked it up a notch. The swim takes place in the clear waters of Mountain Run Lake where athletes will do a triangular 1500 meter swim course. After exiting the water athletes will do a bike course that is not an easy one, but it sure is fun!The run course is challenging but scenic.
On Sunday, the Culpeper Sprint is in its 7th year and is one of the most popular races in the VTS. It consists of a 750 meter swim in Mountain Run Lake,cycling on the rural country roads of Culpeper County, and ends with a challenging 5K course. |
